Amiodarone class

Amiodarone indication
- wide complex tachycardia
- v-fib/ pulsless v tach
amiodarone contraindications
- hypotension
- 2nd or 3rd degree block
- chf
- symptomatic bradycardia
- known allergy or hypersensitivity
amiodarone adverse effects
- av conduction abnormalities
- bradycardia
- headache
- hypotension
- torsades de pointes
- nausea/ vomiting
amiodarone doseage wide complex tachycardia ( vtach with a pulse stable)
- adult: 150 mg into 100 ml d5w over 10 mins
- Pedi: 5 mg / kg over 20-60 min
amiodarone dosage for v fib / pulsless v tach ( cardiac arrest)
- ADULT: 1st dose: 300 mg iv bolus, 2nd dose is 150 mg iv bolus
- PEDI: 5 mg / kg bolus during cardiac arrest ( may repeatx2 for v-fib/ pulsless v-tach)

- calcium channel blocker

- torsades de pointes
- reactive airway disease
- eclampsia / seizure

- 2nd and 3rd degree heart blok
- patients on digitalis
- known allergy / hypersensitivity
Mag sulfate adverse effects
- cns depression
- hypotension
- repiratory depression
- nausea/ vomiting
mag sulfate dosage reactive airway disease
- adult 2 gm in 100 cc d5w iv infusion over 10 min
- pediatric 50 mg/ kg in 100 cc d5w iv infusion over 10 min
mag sulfate dosage for torsades de pointes with a pulse
1-2 gm in 100 cc d5w iv/ io infusion over 5-60 min
mag sulfate sulfate dosage for torsades de pointes without a pulse (cardiac arrest)
1-2 gm iv / io diluted in 10 ml of crystalloid
mag sulfate dosage for eclamtic seizures
- mag 4gm in 100 cc d5w iv infusion over 20 min
or
- mag 4gm im 2 gm in each glute
