Philosophy
The love of Wisdom
Wisdom
A type of knowledge that enables a person to judge all things in terms of their causes or context.
Paideia
The process of educating a person into his true, real, and genuine human nature.
Arete
Excellence or virtuous conduct.
Metaphysics
Studies the nature of reality or existence.
Axiology
Studies values including ethics, social philosophy, and aesthetics.
Epistemology
Studies how we learn and know.
Science
A systematic set of integrated truths.
Art
The applications of truths in order to obtain a desired outcome.
Speculative Knowledge
Knowledge for it’s own sake.
Mathematics
Quantification of being; intermediate abstract.
Natural Philosophy
Study of the qualities of a being; immediate and concrete.
Natural Limits
Things in the material universe are changeable and scarce.
Experiential Limits
In choosing one thing, we cannot choose other things.
Theist
Believe God exist’s.
Atheist
Doesn’t believe in God.
Agnostic
Doesn’t know whether God exists or not.
Prime Mover
Not everything moves or changes every other thing in a cause effect relationship.
First Cause
Nothing can cause itself, in the beginning there has to be a first cause.
Necessary Being
States that reality cannot consist of only contingent beings, there must be at least one being that had to exist.
Perfect Being
We can identify gradations in being superior to inferior.
Grand Designer
Creation works in concert with itself; it must be the product of design.
Knowledge
A collection of integrated concepts that are believed to be true.
Monotheist
Believe in one God distinct from the creation. (Dualism)
