Putting together of elements in one shot
Composition
Where the most important elements in the frame are placed on the four points where the horizontal and vertical lines intersect
Rule of thirds
When framing a person or a face we usually put a little space on top of the head. This is called
Headroom
putting adequate space in the direction where your subject is looking
Looking Space
Put more space in the direction towards where your subject is moving.
Walking space
Making sure that the frame is leveled when in shooting spaces with a lot of horizontal areas
Leveling
objects nearest the camera
foreground
objects and areas farthest from the camera
middle ground and background
Should your background be too cluttered? (T or F)
False
Color can be used to achieve certain effects as with intentionally setting the wrong
Color balance or color temperature
you need to adjust the frame to compensate for your subjects movements(T or F)
True
Cameras image sensor makes some calculations and decides how much light it will allow in.
Auto Exposure
Useful in times when subject is standing in front of a bright area.
Back light compensation control
Sufficient for most shooting conditions. Ex: when your subject is behind a net or glass or when trying to shoot an object that is in motion.
Auto Focus
Teaching the camera to see white as white
White balance
Times to shoot for best lighting
8am to 3pm
Smooth and silvered. used to reflect light from the sun to the object
Reflector
Light hitting your target from the direction of the camera.
Front light
Produces shadows that are clear across the frame
Full side light
comes from behind and outlines the subject and sets it apart from the background.(the subject will be in silhouette.)
Back light
Shines down directly from above the subject. This makes deep shadows in the eye sockets
Top light
Has a light source from below the subject and casts shadows upward.
Underlighting
Refers to a light sources relative redness or blueness
color temperature
This process or effect occurs when the camera operator zooms in alters the focus and then at the appropriate moment restores the focus
Defocus
