Q

What is the test for starch

A
  • boiling water—> beaker
  • dip leaf in beaker for 30 secs ( kills cells ) ( softens cells )
  • put leaf in text tube covered in ethanol ( which boils )
  • remove the leaf
  • rinse off for a while
  • place on white tile
  • add iodine

Q

What do stomata do?

A

They open and close to allow the plant to take in O2 and release CO2 and vise versa

Q

What does biodegradable mean?

A

That it can be broken down into simple substances that can be “recycled”

17
Q

How do you de-starch a plant?

A

Put it in a dark place for 2-3 days.
