6
Q

What is stored energy and how does it relate to potential energy?

A

Stored energy gives objects the potential to make things work, e.g. chemical gravitational elastic nuclear

7
Q

Define Potential chemical energy

A

Chemical energy is energy stored by food, fuels and batteries. In food when you digest it your body releases the energy to store so your body can work, or for fuel it released when its burnt (oil, wood, gasoline)

8
Q

Define gravitational energy

A

This is energy stored in an object due to its lost on above ground.

13
Q

What is the difference between distance and displacement?

A

Distance is a scale quantity and is how far something had moved in metres. Displacement however is a vector quantity and is how far an object has moved form its starting point and its direction.

Q

What is acceleration?

A

Is a vector quantity and is when an objects velocity increased we say its accelerating.

17
Q

Formula for when we need to figure out displacement?

A

S=ut + 1/2 at^2
