What is gravity?
A force that affects two objects with mass.
What is a unit of force?
Push or pull;described by strength
What does unbalanced force equal?
No motion
What are factors of Gravity?
Mass and distance.
What is distance?
The length between two points
What is weight?
The gravitational force exerted on an objects mass
What is free fall?
Only gravity acting on a falling object
What is air resistance?
It’s a type of fluid friction as an object falls through the air
What is projectile?
an object that is thrown
What is friction?
The force that two objects exert on each other when they rub against each other.
What is static friction?
Friction on objects that are not moving
What is rolling friction?
Friction when an object rolls across a surface.
What is fluid friction?
Friction when an objects goes through a fluid.
How is friction helpful?
It can stop things and help them move smoother
How is friction Harmful?
it can wear out parts
What is Newtons first law?
Law of Inertia.
What is Inertia?
the tendency of an object ro resist a change in motion.
What factor affects Inertia?
Mass
What does Newtons first law state?
an
object at rest will remain at rest and an
object moving at a constant velocity will
continue moving at a constant velocity,
unless it is acted upon by an unbalanced
force. Gravity and friction are unbalanced
forces.
What is Newtons second law?
acceleration
What is acceleration?
The speed increasing or decreasing or direction changing
What is terminal velocity?
maximum velocity of a free falling object occurs when the force of air resistance equals the weight of the object.
What does Newtons second law state?
acceleration
depends on the object’s mass and the force
acting on the object.
What is Newtons 3rd law?
Law of motion
