A pilgrimage is a journey made by Christian’s to a holy sight to feel collider to god and meet others who share faith.

Why do Christian’s go to Lourdes on pilgrimage?
A
In 1858 a young girl called Bernadette has visions of the Virgin Mary at Lourdes. Today, thousands visit as they believe the spring of water that appeared here has healing properties.

Why do Christian’s go to Iona on a pilgrimage?
A
Iona is off the coast of Scotland, there is a monastic community there. Some people believe the veil between the spiritual and physical world is thin there.
