What is the curved impression in each?

A

Right lung: Aygous vein (or arch)

Left lung: Aortic arch

In the case of a pneumothorax, the lung will collapse and the two pleuras will separate. Which pleura stays with the lung, and which remains against the walls?

A

Visceral pleura - on the lung

Parietal pleura - stuck against cavity walls

(Before this happens the pleural cavity is not a “real” space. Just a “potential” space.
