Q

Recite Oberon’s passage at the beginning of A Midsummer Night’s Dream?

A

I know a bank
where the wild thyme blows,
Where oxlips
and the nodding violet grows,

Quite overcanopied
with luscious woodbine,
With sweet muskroses,
and with eglantine.

There sleeps Titania
sometime of the night,
Lulled in these flowers
with dances and delight.

And there the snake
throws her enameled skin,
Weed wide enough
to wrap a fairy in.

And with the juice of this
I’ll streak her eyes
And make her full of
HATEFUL FANTASIES.

Finish this poem:
Captain of our fairy band,

A

Captain of our fairy band,
Helena is here at hand,

And the youth, mistook by me,
Pleading for a lover’s fee.

Shall we their fond pageant see?
Lord, what fools these mortals be!

Q

The Eagle
by Alfred, Lord Tennyson

A

He clasps the crag with crooked hands; Close to the sun in lonely lands. Ringed with the azure world, he stands.
The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls; He watches from his mountain walls. And like a thunderbolt he falls.

A mighty worm was he.

Ooooey Goooey!

Celery
BY OGDEN NASH

A

Celery, raw,
Develops the jaw,
But celery, stewed,
Is more quietly chewed.

Q

Who Has Seen the Wind?
BY CHRISTINA ROSSETTI

A

Who has seen the wind? Neither I nor you:
But when the leaves hang trembling , The wind is passing through.
Who has seen the wind? Neither you nor I:
But when the trees bow down their heads The wind is passing by.
