-Creates competition
-Encourages schools to raise standards

What is Formula Funding / what does it do? (Explanation Ao1)

A

-School funding is based on pupil numbers
-the more popular a school is, the more funding they get
-best schools = more students = more funding = better facilities (its a cycle)
-Unpopular schools struggle to get funding and therefore have less income and less pupils (another cycle!!)
