Q

Effectiveness of Registration etc

A

Positive
They are up-to-date and they are legal requirement so they have accurate data. They maintain data between censuses, they highlight local trends and allow for more specific planning.
Negative
Data is held regionally rather than nationally so it doesn’t give an overall picture for a country.
Developing countries many rule areas will not have access to this.

Q

Problems of census Data

A

It’s expensive so many developing countries cannot afford to properly because they have more important things to spend their money on such as health.

Nomadic people pose a problem because they move place to place they may be counted twice or you missed out altogether.

Illegal immigrants in places such as the USA may not want to be counted so come over the border unnoticed

Under registration is common in China for instance because of the one child policy

There are levels of literacy in many developing countries so many people struggle with the forms and it costs too much money to employ people to read the senses to these people

What time does more than one language be spoken in a country for example India which is 22 official spoken languages this means forms will have to be printed in more than one language which is costly

Migration is common in developing countries for example Brazil people move from rural to urban areas and won’t be counted also in shantytowns they don’t have fixed address and so it’s difficult to track who is living where

Poor communication links makes sense is taking difficult and expensive in some places many people are scattered around

Some groups of people don’t trust the governments the may not tell the truth because they might get in trouble

Some countries are prone to natural disasters or even war so the information can change extremely fast

Q

Consequences of a fast growing, youthful population (developing)

A

Huge pressure to have houses education and healthcare. Literacy rates may be low as not everyone can access education and this can have a knock-on impact on business in the future.

High unemployment rates because there’s not enough jobs available for the high number of young people and they may be forced into informal jobs which can lead to poverty

Overcrowding means that more people are forced to live in shantytowns and that has many problems like to see is lack of sanitation etc

Pressure on food supply because many countries won’t be able to grow enough food for the growing population this can lead to starvation and malnutrition

Pressure on services such as healthcare which can lead to high levels of disease

More people means more traffic which means more traffic congestion and air pollution

Due to the more food being needed Inveraray is too many people can put pressure on the land.

However a large working force could help with the development of new industries in the competition for jobs allows the way just slow which helps companies profit and survive.

Q

Consequences and Solutions of a Slow Growing population (ageing, developed)

A

There is a dedicated workforce in the years to come and some careers may struggle to recruit for example the Armed Forces. We should encourage immigration for more workers and we could raise the retirement age.

Because there’s more older people this place is a strain on elderly service providers e.g. nursing home but the reduced birthrate may also minute services for young people for example schools me going to decline. And increase the elderly population may require more healthcare put in health services under stress there could be more demand for expensive operations for example hip replacements. We should encourage people to take out private healthcare and private pension schemes.

As the elderly dependency ratio increases the cost of pensions will need-to go up. We could encourage more private pension schemes and increase the retirement age.

The movie law and play unemployment rates in the future and less pressure on governments to pay benefits however this can also mean there is a skills gap. For this we can encourage immigration to our country there is technology solutions for example robots doing jobs.
