Indonesia (Low rank sub-bituminous) coal
South Africa, Russia and Columbia. Mozambique has strong potential but requires infrastructure
Is any thermal coal being exporeted from the Gallilee basin??
Not yet, but has several major projects planned such as GVK, Adani and Bandanna Energy. These projects require significant infrastructure (upwards of $10Bn)
How much of Australias coal exports come from the Bowen Basin?
About 45mt of thermal coal. Majority of coal from the Bowen Basin is met coal.
Is much coal being exported from the Surat basin?
No, about 8mt due to limited rail through urban areas to Port of Brisbane. Similar to Gallille basin, major infrastrucutre is required such as the Surat Basin Rail and Wiggins Island Stage 2 to allow development of future projects
