The superior part of the microsope that attaches to the ocular.
Head
The straight vertical part of the microscope that connects the bottom of the microscope to the top of the microscope.
Arm
The widest bottom part that supports the microscope.
Base
Lenses that you look through to observe the microscope slide. They magnifiy the image 10x

Oil Immersion

Lower Stage Adjustment Knobs
located below stage; function is to condence and focus light from the lamp.
Condenser
located within the condenser and used to regulate the amount of light that passes through condenser.
Iris diaphragm and lever
the largest knob on the right; used in scanning lens only, the bring the slide into focus.
Coarse focus knob
The smaller knob in the middle; used with all objectives for prcision focusing.
Fine focus knob
light source at the base of the microscope and is controlled by the voltage control knob.
Substage Lamp
turns microscope on and off
Power switch
Located below the power switch; adjust brightness.
