Q

“Every moment, hold the knowing of that moment” -

  • Eckhart Tolle -
A

“Every moment, hold the knowing of that moment, particularly of your inner state.

If there is anger, know there is anger. If there is jealousy, defensiveness, the urge to argue, the need to be right, an inner child demanding love and attention, or emotional pain of any kind -

whatever it is, know the reality of that moment and hold the knowing”

Q

” A mind created duality is the root cause of all unnecessary complexity, of all problems and conflict in your life “

  • Eckhart Tolle -
A

“When you have a relationship with yourself, you have split yourself into two: “I” and “myself”, subject and object.

That mind created duality is the root cause of all unnecessary complexity, of all problems and conflict in your life.

In the state of enlightenment, you are yourself - “you” and “yourself” ,merge into one.

You do not judge yourself, you do not feel sorry for yourself, you are not proud of yourself, you do not love yourself, you do not hate yourself and so on.

The split caused by self-reflective consciousness is healed, it’s curse removed. There is no “self” that you need to protect, defend, or feed anymore”

Q

“Resistance is weakness and fear masquerading as strength”

  • Eckhart Tolle -
A

“Surrender is the simple but profound wisdom of yielding to rather than opposing the flow of life…

so to surrender is to accept the present moment unconditionally and without reservation. It is to relinquish inner resistance to what is.

The ego believes that in your resistance lies your strength, whereas in truth resistance cuts you off from Being, the only place of true power.

Resistance is weakness and fear masquerading as strength - Resistance is the mind.

Q

“The Origin of Fear”

  • Eckhart Tolle -
A

“The psychological condition of fear is divorced from any concrete and immediate danger. It comes in many forms: unease, worry, anxiety, nervousness, tension, dread, phobia, and so on.

This kind of psychological fear is always of something that might happen, not of something that is happening now. You are in the here and now, while your mind is in the future. This creates an anxiety gap.

And if you are identified with your mind and have lost touch with the power and simplicity of the Now, that anxiety gap will be your constant companion.

You can always cope with the present moment, but you cannot cope with something that is only a mind projection -

you cannot cope with the future”

Q

“A state of presence requires your total alertness”

Ekhart Tolle

A

“The state of presence could be compared to waiting. It is a qualitatively different kind of waiting, one that requires your total alertness.

Something could happen at any moment, and if you are not absolutely awake, absolutely still, you will miss it. In that state, all your attention is in the now. There is none left for day-dreaming, thinking, remembering, anticipating.

You are present with your whole being, with every cell of your body.

In that state, the “you” that has a past and a future, the personality if you like, is hardly there anymore. And yet nothing of value is lost. You are still essentially yourself.

In fact, you are more fully yourself than you ever were before, or rather

it is only now that you are truly yourself”
