2. Put the fraction into lowest terms
How do you change a percent to a decimal
- Divide the percent by 100
2. Round the decimal to two decimal places if needed
How do you find the surface area of a rectangular prism
A=2(wh+lw+lh)
How do you find the volume of a rectangular prism
V=lwh
How do you find the perimeter of a rectangle
P=2(L+W)
How do you find the area of a rectangle
A=lw
What is the Pythagorean theorem
A squared + B squared + C squared = C squared
What is a parallel line
Lines that run in the same direction and never cross
What is a perpendicular line
Lines that intersect at right angles
What are parallel lines slope like
Have the same slope
What are perpendicular lines slope like
They have slopes that are negative reciprocals
Ex: y= 3x-4. M=3/1
What is a coefficient and a variable
Coefficient is the number
Variable consist of more than one letter or symbol
What is a constant
A term with no variable
What is monomial
Type of polynomial
Has 1 number of term
Ex: x, 3y, -4z, 5
What is a binomial
Type of polynomial
Has 2 number of terms
Ex: 2x-3, ab + 2a, 0.5x - x
What is a trinomial
Type of polynomial
Has 3 number of terms
Ex: 2x+3x-1
What are types of polynomials
Monomial
Binomial
Trinomial
What is the degree of a term
The sum of the exponents on the variables in a term
Ex:
4x to the power of 2 y to the power of three (2+3=5) would be a degree of 5
Xsquared would be degree of 2
-5 would be degree of 0
What is a degree of a polynomial
The degree of the highest degree term
Ex: -2A to the power of 2 (degree of 2) + a to the power of 3 B to the power of 3 (degree of 5)
So the polynomial is degree 5
What are like terms
Have identical variables and exponents
Ex:
3x+5+2x+1
In like terms is 3x+2x +5+ 1
=5x+6
