Which medications should be omitted prior to surgery?

Answer 1

ACE inhibitors and ARB’s

Warfarin/DOACs

Aspirin and clopidogrel (note will often be continued in vascular patients)

Antiglycaemic’s should be stopped on the day of surgery whilst a patient is nil by mouth. BM’s should be monitored and a sliding scale starting if needed.
