What is the difference between depuis, pour and pendant?
All can mean 'for', however;
-'Pendant' is for the duration of events that have already happened, or will happen in the future, but aren't happening now
>e.g. J'ai travaillé dans un hôtel pendant deux ans -> I worked in a hotel for two years
-Use 'depuis' for actions that began in the past, but are still continuing today, with the present tense
>e.g. J'habite dans le Cumbria depuis trois mois -> I've lived in Cumbria for three months.
-'Pour' is used similarly to English, but with time, it's only used in the future tense
>e.g. Martine va aller en Suisse pour une semaine -> Martine is going to go to Switzerland
