Electoral College
used to elect president, each state gets a certain number of electorates : each state gets at least 3
Inherent Powers
powers held by the President that are not explicitly mentioned in the United States Constitution, often through executive orders and such

agreements between the US and other countries, not a formal treaty but similar
Executive Order
a regulation/rule by the president which has the force of the law
Signing Statement
a written statement which goes along with a bill following the presidents signature to clarify intention
Partisan Presidency
members of congress give up control to party leaders, the chairs use their power to push party goals rather than individual goals
Populist Presidency
televised speeches, goal to be liked by public, social media
Veto Bargaining
the threat of a veto is often enough to change legislation

making appeals to the public
Executive Office of the President
stays in place despite shifts in presidency, provides informal on spending
Office of Management and Budget
the largest office within the EOP, main purpose: to produce the presidents budget
“take care” clause
take care that the laws be faithfully executed by the president
