What was the system of inheritance during the middle ages?
Primogeniture
Who would inherit the crown or land?
The first born son.
What was the process of becoming a knight?
Step 1- Start training as a squire at age 15.
Step 2- Get overlord to promote you to knight.
Step 3- Show chivalrous behavior and become a “sir”.
What was the process of becoming a tradesman?
Step 1- Pay a tradesman to teach you.
Step 2- Become an apprentice, and stay with your master( teacher) and his family.
Step 3- After seven years, become a journeyman, and get paid for your items.
Step 4- Or create a masterpiece and become a master yourself.
What would a woman look forward to in life?
A woman would look forward to being married. She would be married to a wealthy man. Large dowries were given to the groom. A large dowry would attract a wealthy husband. However, some women joined the clergy and became nuns, or become maids.
