where there is LOW PROBABILITY that the difference or correlation between your variables was DUE TO CHANCE.

Where we think there was NO EFFECT when in fact THERE WAS.
Accidently accept null hypothesis when we should’ve rejected it and accepted the alternate hypothesis.

Where we think the results are significant when the results were actually due to CHANCE.
Accidentally accept alternate hypothesis when we should reject it and accept null hypothesis.
