Orthopedic Spine
Training is 5 year residency for general orthopedics with a spine fellowship for additional 2-years

Defined as a branch of medicine concerned with diseases and conditions requiring or amenable to operative or manual procedures
Preoperative
It is the period of time prior to the operation. It may includes the onset of the pathology, the appearance of symptoms, the diagnosis, the moment the patient enters the hospital, and the moment the patient is wheeled into the operating room
Intraoperative
It is the period of time in which the patient is in the operating room
Postoperative
It is the period of time after the operation in which the patient recovers from the surgical procedure and his condition
Diagnostic procedure
Procedure that is part of the diagnostic process
Syndrome
Specific set of symptoms and signs that define a particular pathology
Sign
Objective measurable parameter that physician can observe and record
Symptom
Subjective complaints which a patient relates to the physician
Pathology
Disease sickness or condition
Diagnosis
Classification process by which a position clearly identifies a condition or disease
Prognosis
Potential outcome of the patient after surgery or treatment
