A

> when it is proceeded by the preposition ‘de’
- ‘avec l’aide d’amies, elle a fini son projet’

> if the verb requires the preposition ‘de’
- ‘elle parlait de choses oubliées depuis longtemps’

> compare ‘elle dejenunait de pommes’
vs. elle déjeunait des pommes qu’elle avait achetés’
