1) freehold estate
2) leasehold estate

Lease
Exclusive possession of legal estate and is agreed upon deed or registration, can be enforced through third parties and has a time frame of a fixed and long term period. Cannot be revoked during term.
Licence
No exclusive possession, only holds personal rights to occupy and can be agreed upon informally or verbally, no third parties can enforce, often short term period and can be revoked at will.
