Describe the first clinical stage of replica denture production.

A

PRIMARY IMPRESSIONS
1. Clean dentures.
2. Modify denture with greenstick if necessary.
3. Take replica impression of denture and fitting surface using lab putty, vaseline and two stock trays.
4. Remove and disinfect.
5. Give denture back to patient.

USE IMPRESSIONS TO CREATE WAX REPLICA BLOCKS ON SHELLAC BASE
1. Shellac base onto fit surface.
2. Pour wax over shellac and into mould.
3. Remove wax from mould = wax blocks on shellac base.

MASTER IMPRESSIONS & JAW REGISTRATION
1. Take upper master impression - light body silicone on fitting surface of denture and seat until set.
2. Take lower master impression - light body silicone on fitting surface of denture and seat until set.
3. Take jaw registration - JetBite on occlusal surface between two blocks and ask patient to bite together, can be removed in whole.
4. Shade and mould.
