What is Social Exchange Theory (Blau, 1964)
Human interactions are most accurately described as social transactions between people, where people exchange rewards and costs.
What are the internal rewards to help?

What is empathy altruism hypothesis (Batson et al., 1987)
We help people if we feel empathy, then we have altruistic motivation to help;
if we help people because we feel distress, we have egoistic motivation to reduce own distress
What is bystander effect (Darley & Latané, 1986)?
The expectation that others will help. People will more likely to help when alone than company of others.
