the convention on international trade in endangered species
what is cites
An agreement between governments of the world to ensure international trade of wildlife doesn’t threaten their survival.
What are the aims of cites
monitors international trade of species of plants and animals
ensure the trade doesn’t endanger the species
Inforcing permits, for trading slightly less endangered species
ensure international trade doesnt harm population survival
why may trade policies be hard to enforce
people may smuggle or attempt to supply it when their is a high demand.

promotes sustainable development. It recognises biological diversity isnt just plants and animals, it is also people, food, medicine, air, shelter, water etc..
What are the aims of the rio convention on biological diversity
encourages the conservation of biological diversity- countries must use ex situ conservation to complement in-situ conservation
