*2nd line treatment for those non responsive to TCA
-Inhibit MAO enzyme system = not breaking down amines resulting in higher levels in brain
–Depression esp characterized by increased sleep and appetite
–Tachycardia, dizzy, insomnia, anorexia, blurred vision, palpitations, impotence
—OD = appear 12 hours after, tachy, circulatory collapse, seizures, coma

A

Leads to hypertensive crisis which may lead to cerebral hemmorrhage, stroke, coma and death
