When to delegate to a PTA?

A
  • PTA education (or unlicensed personnel), training, experience, & skill level
  • Patient status (criticality, acuity, stability, complexity), predictability of consequences, and frequency of re-evaluation that will be needed
  • Jurisdiction (state practice act) regulations

Ask PTAs about experience with different populations and what they are comfortable with?
If patient is in critical care, POC will change often, PT will want to oversee
