Radial Pulse (Wrist):
This is the most commonly used site for taking a pulse, as it’s easily accessible and provides a good indication of heart rate.
Carotid Pulse (Neck):
Found on either side of the neck, this pulse is particularly useful in emergency situations and for assessing heart rate
Brachial Pulse (Elbow):
Located in the upper arm, this pulse is often used to measure blood pressure and assess circulation, especially in infants.
Femoral Pulse (Groin)
Found in the groin area, this pulse is important for assessing circulation in the lower extremities.
Popliteal Pulse (Behind the Knee)
Located behind the knee, this pulse is important for assessing circulation in the lower extremities and can indicate peripheral artery disease.
Dorsalis Pedis Pulse (Top of Foot
Found on the top of the foot, this pulse is important for assessing circulation in the lower extremities.
Posterior Tibial Pulse (Ankle)
Located on the inside of the ankle, this pulse is also important for assessing circulation in the lower extremities.
