What is a phone trunk?
Connects customer phone with a edge group
What are SIP and WebRTC trunks used for?
They are used for internal communication
What is recommended when it comes to phone trunk setting?
Genesys recommends using the default setting
What is needed for configuring an external BYOC Premise
1) Outbound Server
2) Protocol
3) Calling ID
4) SIP Access Control
Outbound Server external trunk configuration
IP address of the telecom provider
SIP access control configuration for external trunk
IP address that can contact the server and by default is what is set in the Outbound server setting
Max Call External configuration
Sets the number of calls that can be handled
Protocol Capture
Toggle logs for the traffic going through the trunk to the edges

How many types of Phone trunks are there?

Why are there 4 phone trunk types?
The reason is because SIP and Phone trunks can be on premise or cloud base
SIP phone trunks can be used in two ways
In a cloud deployment model, or as a SIP phone trunk that connects SIP phones to a Genesys Edge group.
What deployment model does not requite customer intervention?
The Cloud CX and BYOC Cloud
How many edges are required for a site?
At least 2
What outbound routes does a Edge use?
The ones for it sites and not all the sites in the edge group
What determine the number of edges?
Anticipated concurrent calls of the organization and the model of the Edge used. The best practice is to have N + 1 number of Edges in your contact center.
How many types of Types of On-premise Edge Devices
There are two virtual and hardware edge device
Edge Configuration for General tab
1) Name
2) Site
3) Edge Group
4) Interface for Internal communication with other edges (ports)
Edge Configuration for Network tab
1) Select the port to use (WAN, port 2/3)
2) IPv4 tab
3) Select the external trunk the edge will use
3) Select the phone trunk it will use and can be inherit from Edge Group or selected trunks
