QA Flashcards
(9 cards)
QA definition
process of conducting measurements regularly to ensure that any piece of equipment is performing to satisfactory level under IRMER
benefits of QA
regular and effective QA should reduce risk of error effecting patients, particularly around under/over dosing.
2 important reasons for QA
radiation cannot be withdrawn - only sometimes can it be compensated for
improvements in hypo fractionation means greater impact on pt if radiation delivered is wrong (e.g. breast hypo fractionation from 40gy/15# (6.66% per #) to 26gy/5# (20% per #)
what is a tolerance
how far off of a prescribed target a measurement can be
3 categories of QA
