Topic of the week?
Research current topic on AMOS/ eLearning
Can you sign a CRS on other group aircraft B737NG e.g. Malta air?
Yes IAW their applicable forms. You can’t sign off any RYR UK A/C without RYR CAA approval and CAA licence, for Lauda you need to hold A320 Cat A approval.
Tech log page colours?
White (book- stay in tech log until book complete), yellow (torn out when full by capt and kept at airport for 3 months), pink (torn out when full and returned to tech records within 7 days).
CAME?
Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition. How Part CAMO will comply with regulation. List of locations, facilities, post holders + their responsibilities. ARC procedures etc. Found on MBF.
MOE?
Maintenance Organisation Exposition. How a part 145 company will comply with regulation. List of bases, facilities, manpower, post holders etc. Found on MBF.
NAI?
Non-Airworthiness Item. Used when MEL or Approved maint data does not give an interval to defer. Non airworthiness issue e.g. decal missing, a/c belly wash, trim screw missing. Raise for 10 days. Ref MOE L2.3.5
AMP what is it?
(Aircraft Maintenance Programme) How A/C will remain airworthy and all the check schedules/tasks found on MBF. -800 and -700 share same AMP
EWIS?
Electrical wiring interconnect system means any wire, power feeder, wiring device, or combination of these including termination devices, installed in any area of the aircraft for transmitting electrical energy, including data and signals between two or more intended termination points.
EZAP?
Enhanced zonal analysis programme is an analytical procedure that identifies the physical and environmental conditions contained in each zone of an airplane. EZAP analyses the effects of these conditions on electrical wiring and components and assesses the possibilities for smoke and fire. The result of the analysis are inspection and restoration tasks which will be called up as a maintenance program. See ATA 05.
LIDO?
Lufthansa Integrated Dispatch Operation. LIDO items are items that are critical for dispatch, maintrol must be informed if this item is listed in the MEL.
CDCCL?
Critical Design Configuration Control Limitation, a CDCCL must be maintained in a configuration identical to an approved type design for the airplane. These critical features are present throughout the life of the airplane.
How to tell if a task is a CDCCL in AMM?
(YELLOW ARROW BESIDE TASKS and Green note below)
Engineering Safety Herald?
Found on Amos and engineers iPad. Info about topics of the week, safety tips etc.
Why do we have a safety report system?
To comply with Safety Management System and to ensure safety issues in the workplace are minimised, the root cause can be analysed corrected before a more serious incident can occur in future. Use Corusion to report, found on Ryanair intranet homepage (72 hours).
Hours per week/day that a cat A can work?
17hrs with a 4 hour rest period.
Max 14 hours provided no more than 13 on the job hours
10 hr rest period between shifts
If you go to an outstation, what should you ensure?
Using MOE that the task can be done there e.g. Ramp 2 and use LOPM (local outstation procedure manual) to find out emergency service numbers and base procedures etc.
If a B1 changes nose wheels, what can a CAT A do?
A CAT A can’t sign them off if they haven’t performed it, only sign your own work.
What is perceived pressure?
Pressure you think is on yourself to get a job done. E.g. your boss says get this done by lunch and you think it needs to be done by then and you rush and take chances/ cut corners.
What is meant by ‘Just Culture’?
Errors will occur for all sorts of reasons and Ryanair will not apportion blame as long as it wasn’t intentional or malicious. Incidents will be investigated using the MEDA system.
What does (M) and (O) mean in MEL?
(M) means it is a requirement for a specific maint procedure to be carried out prior to inop system. (O) means an operation needs to be done by flight crew.
How to do high wind parking?
See LB-02-006, > 40 knots STAB APL nose down, chock A/C, remove steps and GPU to fwd of nose, retract airstairs, set Parking brake check px every 8 hours. Above 50kts aircraft must be facing into the wind
TCV parts restriction?
Do not install P/N 398908-4 in either the L/H or flight deck position trim air modulating valve.
RVSM?
Reduced vertical separation minima. Between FL290 and fl410 vertical spacing between A/C reduced from 2000 ft to 1000 ft to increase traffic in that airspace.
What are the requirements for RVSM?
Need x1 Autopilot serviceable, x1 Flight director switch, x1 ALT hold switch, x1 Flight director system, x2 ADM, pitot static system, altitude alerting system and TCAS.
