European country that sponcer’s its colonies and is always the one to make the profit because the colony does not profit as much
What is the point of mercantilism?
Is to economically benefit the mother country and strengthen their economy so that these countries become more powerful on the world stage
Explain the five steps of mercantilism (also draw a chart)
- The colony send the raw material to its mother country because it’s too expensive to process it because there no factories in a colony so they do it in the mother country
- In the mother country the raw materials are processed and once there processed they get sent to the European markets
- On the European markets the items are sold and all the profit goes back to the mother country
- The mother country then uses some of the money to buy the supplies needed to make the items
- They are then send to the colony to repeat the cycle
What does colonization mean?
When a European country takes over another territory (mostly Europe + South America)
For the purpose of power and profits
The process of colonization is supported by slavery and money given by the mother country

Why did many of the aboriginals die
Because when they were brought to European country they did not have the antibody that Europeans had to not get a disease. The disease was like the chicken picks
What did they do to fill the spaces of all the people that had died?
They went to Africa and room many African slaves and forced them to work but also many of them died from terrible working conditions and the disease
