- Pastor of North Avenue Mission in Chicago.

- Originally taught Wesleyan view, but after his trip to LA, determined not to preach that anymore.
- He published The Pentecostal Testimony.
What were Durham’s beliefs?
- Sanctification given at moment of conversion.
- Finished Work = finished work of Christ on the Cross.
- No need of 2nd work, since one was perfectly sanctified at conversion.
- After conversion, the Christian would grow in grace.
Durham at Azusa Street:
- In 1911, Durham preaches his Finished Work message at Azusa St while Seymour is away.
- At this time, just a small black church.
- Crowds flocked to hear Durham.
- Seymour hears, he comes back, and padlocks the door.
