OPEN SYSTEM
Fluid balance
Transport of dietary lipids
Immunity
Lymphatic Flow
OPEN CIRCUIT
Picks up excess interstitial fluid and returns it to the cardiac system
What are the 2 types of resistance/immunity
General and Specific
GENERAL resistance =
INATE: Skin, mucus membranes and gastric juices
INDISCRIMINATE WBCs
SPECIFIC resistance =
ADAPTIVE: WBCs fight infection. T-cells and B-cells
T-cells
Perform cell mediated response
B-cells
Antibody mediated response

Swelling
Weight gain
Pitting
Etiology of Edema
Blockage
