WFB Part 1 description
introduction to the Magistrate and life in the empire. The Magistrate leads a quiet life until Colonel Joll arrives to investigate barbarian uprisings. Joll captures and tortures locals. The Magistrate starts questioning the Empire’s brutal methods. Pain is the only way to get the truth
WFB part 2 description
The Barbarian girl. The Magistrate begins caring for a tortured barbarian girl. He’s fascinated and guilt-ridden, using her as a way to understand his own complicity in the Empire’s violence.
WFB part 3 description
The journey and his arrest. He undertakes a dangerous journey to return the girl, believing it’s the moral thing to do. Upon returning, the Empire views him as a traitor and imprisons him. Questions his true intentions by returning an enemy but hoping she will stay with him
WFB part 4 description
imprisonment and humiliation. Stripped of his authority and dignity, the Magistrate becomes a victim of the same system he once upheld. He reflects on justice, guilt, and complicity. Screams to stop the slashing on the plaza. Seen as an enemy when once he was the public figure. Is different and cannot express how that is
WFB part 5 description
the collapse of the empire. The Empire’s campaign collapses due to paranoia and internal decay. The Magistrate resumes his former role, now disillusioned and spiritually changed. Realises the barbarians were never enemies they just chose to label them as that.
WFB part 6 description
reflection and end. Now a humbled and changed man, the Magistrate questions whether justice, truth, or peace can exist in the world of Empire. The snowman is a symbolizism of the wait until the next fall
