To request immediate assistance, the Operations Dispatcher shall immediately take steps to ensure officer’s safety
How Does an Off-Duty and/or Working a Paid Detail Identify Themselves
The PO shall identify themselves by utilizing the number engraved on their two-way portable radio unit
ex. “Unit 1234 to Operations”
When Does PO Use Radio Comm: L20
When alerting the dispatcher that you will be off the air/ “unavailable” for longer than 20 minutes
ex. B101F L20 Arrest
OR B431F L20 Report
*remember a PO only calls L20 one time for both procedures of making and arrest + writing the report
