A detailed response
Describe
A line graph of story events with the stories beginning on the left and continuing toward the right, ending with the story’s conclusion.
plot structure
The character’s quality/trait is stated within the text.
Direct characterization
Describes an aspect of someone’s behavior that helps create a personality. There can be both positive and negative character traits.
character traits
At the end of a plot graph. Everything has been worked out (for either better or worse) and the story ends with a character reflection.
resolution
A conversation between two characters.
dialogue
To specify the meaning or importance of the content of the text (novel, poem, article).
Significant (Significance)
A story that can be written or told (orally/verbally).
Narrative
Quality/trait that is inferred based on what the character(s) say, do, feel, and what they think.
Indirect characterization
Carefully examine a part of a text such as the plot, characters, setting, or theme of a story to understand how it connects or affects the whole text.
Analyze
The character’s qualities and responses stay the same.
