  • Systemically unwell
  • Diplopia, limitation in extra-ocular eye movements
  • conjunctivitis/chemosis
  • exophthalmos
  • blurred vision

What is uveitis and what can cause it?

A

Inflammation in the eye
Iris, ciliary body/vitreous, retina/choroid/vessels
Panuveitis = multiple

Causes

  • idiopathic
  • associated with systemic disease (SLE, sarcoidosis)
  • infection (TB, toxoplasma, syphilis, HSV, lymes, CMV
  • masquerade syndromes
