Red Items Flashcards
(93 cards)
What info does the IR supply
Heading Attitude Angular rate Flight path angle Acceleration Aircraft position Track
What info does the ADR give
Airspeed Altitude Angle of Attack Over speed warning Mach # Temperature
What causes the AMBER FAULT light on the ENG BLEED pb?
BBOOL Bleed valve not closed during ENG start. Bleed valve not closed with APU bleed on. Overpressure downstream of bleed valve Overheat of bleed air Leak [wing or pylon on the RELATED side]
What does amber FAULT light in the APU BLEED pb indicate.
APU bleed leak
What are the 2 functions of the ENG bleed valves
▪️Pressure regulation
▪️Shut off valves
What is the RAM AIR pb used for?
▪️Smoke Removal
▪️Ventilation if cockpit and cabin if both packs fail
When will the RAM AIR valve open if selected on?
🔺p is less than 1psi
Ditching is NOT selected
What logic controls the X-BLEED valve when the switch is in AUTO?
▪️X-BLEED valve OPEN when APU valve is open.
▪️X-BLEED valve is CLOSED when APU bleed valve is closed.
▪️X-BLEED valve is CLOSED in case of a wing/Pylon or APU leak [except during engine start]
How many motors drive the X-BLEED valve?
2 electrical motors
What causes the Pack Flow Control valve to automatically close?
▪️pack overheat on ground only, engine start or operation of the fire or ditching pb.
—-> the valve is controlled from the AIR COND panel
What does the Amber HOT AIR FAULT indicate?
The fault circuit detects a overheat when duct temp = 88degC.
The valve and trim air valves close automatically.
The fault light goes OFF when temp drops below 70degC and flight crew selects OFF.
When will the HOT AIR valve close?
▪️No Air ▪️Both ASCS lanes fail ▪️Duct overheat ▪️Cockpit trim air valve failure ▪️BOTH cabin trim air valves fail
What is the function of the HOT AIR pb?
It controls the HOT AIR pressure regulating valve which controls the flow of hot air to the Trim Air Valves.
—-> this hot air is mixed with pack conditioned air for zone temperature control.
How many ACSC [AC system controllers] are there?
2 x ACSC to monitor the TEMP of 3 ZONES
COCKPIT
FWD
AFT cabin
How many lanes on each ACSC? and how do they operate?
2 lanes {1active 1 STBY}
If both lanes fail the related pack is lost and the associated HOT AIR pressure regulating valve and associated TRIM AIR valves close
If a ACM fails what occurs?
🔺the affected PACK may be operated in heat exchanger cooling mode.
What happens the the PACK FLOW control valves during ENG start {normal engine start using APU}
▪️close automatically when ENG MODE SEL —-> IGN
▪️if the MASTER SWITCH is not selected ON within 30s they open again.
▪️They close when MASTER SWITCH is selected ON.
🔹After start sequence or ENG MODE SEL is back to NORM the pack flow control valves open.
After ENG start with the APU BLEED pb ON what source is supplying bleed air to the packs?
APU BLEED it has priority over ENG’s bleed.
When does the Lavatory/Gally extract fan operate?
Continuously when electrical power is available.
Will the batteries completely drain if you leave the BAT switches in AUTO after aircraft power is removed?
NO
🔴 Battery cut-off logic prevents complete discharge when the aircraft is on the ground and unpowered
—-> 22.5V
How is the BATTERY BUSS normally powered?
DC BUS1 through the DC TIE contactor.
What does the AMBER FAULT light in the GALY & CAB pb indicate?
A load of any generator is more than 100% is it’s rated output
How does the GALLEY pb work in AUTO?
Main & Secondary Gally are supplied
The main galley and IFE are automatically shed.
▪️IN FLIGHT only 1 GEN operating
▪️ON GND when only one ENG GEN is operating
When is galley SHED displayed on the ECAM?
▪️GALLEY pb OFF
▪️IN FLIGHT only 1 GEN operating
▪️on GND the aircraft is being supplied by 1 ENG GEN only
