- It won 3.9 million votes in the 2015 General Election,
though this returned just 1 MP. - Its growing support put pressure on the Conservative Party to commit to holding a
referendum on leaving the EU in their 2015 election manifesto, though, which led to

Immigration:

- Freeze non-essential immigration, including banning students from
bringing partners and children to the UK. - National Insurance (20%) paid by employers for
employing foreign workers instead of British workers. - “pick up
illegal migrants out of boats and take them back to France”. - Asylum seekers arriving illegally would be processed rapidly and “offshore” if
necessary. Those rejected would be “returned”. - They also pledged to leave the (ECHR) to
make it easier to deport asylum seekers.

Taxes:

- tax cuts for small businesses,
including by introducing a corporation tax free allowance of £100k in profits and lifting the
threshold when businesses have to be VAT registered to £150k from £90k. - raise £35B per year by ceasing to
pay interest on the £700bn of bonds held at the Bof E as a result of the post-financial crisis Quantitative Easing programme. - Parents who send their children to private schools 20% tax relief on fees.
- By raising the stamp duty
threshold from £250,000 to £750,000.

Reform also pledged to save £30B per year by scrapping the UK’s net zero target,
reflecting the fact that opposing measures to tackle climate change that hit working people are unfair and shouldn’t be prioritised.

Culture War:
A
- Reform UK says it will tackle “divisive ‘woke’ ideology” and pledged to ban what it has called ‘transgender ideology’ in schools, including banning choosing your own pronouns in
school and ensuring parent’s are informed if their children transition. - Reform also pledged to ban what it calls “critical race theory” in schools and ensure that
any teaching of slavery must be paired with the teaching of a non-European occurrence of the same to ensure ‘balance’.

Welfare:

- Reform pledged in their manifesto to spend £17B per year more on the NHS, significantly
more than any of the 3 major parties, in order to eradicate waiting lists in two years. - Reform also supports an insurance-based health model rather than a completely
nationalised model like the NHS currently is.
