- remarriage is discouraged. If remarriage take place in should be a civil ceremony sloth ouch a church blessing may be allowed
What are Roman Catholics traditions on divorce?
- divorce is not recognised
- marriage is a sacrament that cannot be broken
- some marriages can be annulled, where there are good reasons

It’s against the Ten Commandments, it breaks the vows, it’s harmful to the marriage relationship and the children

- Catholics may not remarry because divorce is not recognised.wedding vows are for life. Marriage is as sacrament
- vicars can decide individually if they want to remarry someone who has been divorced. Some will do a blessing after the registry office wedding
What do Islam think of remarriage?
- remarriage is allowed in Islam because Muhammad taught to live in a family is important
- in Islam men and women have set roles, the women looks after the home and the man provides for the women. Therefore remarriage is promoted
What are the 3 stages of divorce in Islam?
- Parents etc attempt to help the couple reconcile
- there is a 3 month waiting period. The couple don’t sleep together. The husband declares 3 times, “ I divorce you” in front of witnesses
- At the end of the 3 months, if the wife is not pregnant, the marriage is needed and the couple are free to remarry. This is encouraged
What is the tradition of contraception for islams?
- only to be used by married couples
- sex is for within marriage only
- some disagree with its uses because the Qur’an states that a child is a gift from Allah
- permanent methods e.g sterilisation are not permitted
What are the four types of love and there meanings?
- storage - affection for things and animals
- Philia - love for friends and family
- Eros - sexual love
- agape - unconditional love like mother and baby
