What is a Religious Truth?
A religious truth is about our relationship with God.
What is a moral truth?
A truth that tells us what is right and wrong.
What is a symbolic truth?
A truth that uses symbols to present the truth. You often need to read between the lines to see it.
What is a proverbial truth?
Wisdom that is contained in sayings (early bird catches worm).
Who is God?
Khonshu (the moon haunts you)
What is a historical truth?
A truth that is told through the history of the Hebrew people.
Are there errors in historical truth?
Yes. The writers would have bias.
What is a scientific truth?
Factually proven truth. Due to a lack of knowledge, there are errors.
What is the difference between literal and figurative language?
Literal uses actual meanings of words, while figurative uses images and comparisons.
Name the 4 common language techniques used in figurative language.
Similes, metaphors, hyperboles and personification.

Symbolic stories that explain the creation of the universe.

Written to people or communities to address particular problems.
Apocalyptic genre
Similar to the prophecy genre in that they proclaim urgent messages to the audiences, in particular, warning and comfort. However, the language is much more symbolic
History genre
Recalls the past. Not always accurate.
Legal documents genre
List of instructions about how people must live.
Parable genre
Simple story to illustrate a moral.
Prophecy genre
Word of God spoken through prophets.
