Church of Scotland concerns around opt-out system introduced in Scotland on the 26th of March 2021 found on www.churchofscotland.org.uk
-They are concerned that donors wishes won’t be respected and that the donation can no longer really be seen as a donation or gift because it can’t be sure that the person was consenting.
- They also have concern over equality as some people may not have access to information about the change in law and how to register their decision as this relies heavily on technology.
-Loss of trust has also been expressed as a consent due to the fact that deceased families may not fully trust that their loved one was consenting but could feel uncomfortable expressing this due to the person not have chosen to opt-out.

Sunni Muslims belief Al-Qadr
This is one of the sixth pillars of faith in Sunni Islam and is the belief that Allah has already planned everything that will happen in a persons life and link to the belief that Allah is is all knowing (omniscient). This implies that everything in life has a meaning that has been chosen by Allah and so Shoukd not be interfered with. However, Sunni Muslims do still believe they have free will but that Allah knows all of the decisions they will make.
Sunni Muslim belief of free will
Sunni Muslims believe that Allah has given everyone the ability to think for themselves and make their own choices. However this implies that Sunni Muslims have responsibility over their own actions and cannot blame anyone else.
Sunni Muslim belief of Khalifas
It is believed all Muslims have been given the role of a khalifa by Allah which means they must care for and protect all of Allahs creations. Many Muslims do this through caring for nature such as doing gardening as a garden is seen as the closest thing to heaven on Earth. However, it also involves taking care of people as people are also Allahs creations.
Buddhist belief of Samsara
Samsara is the cycle of life which involves life, death and rebirth. Buddhists believe that the way you live your current life will greatly impact your future life when you’re reborn. The ultimate goal for a Buddhist is to find enlightenment and break the cycle so they are no longer reborn again and again.
Buddhist belief of Kamma
Buddhists believe that every action has consequences and so bad action will have bad consequences and good actions will have good consequences. This is linked to the idea of rebirth as the way you act in this life will effect how you are reborn in the next or if you are reborn at all. Thoughts and intention also impact Kamma.

The eightfold path which is sometimes referred to as the middle way is the fourth noble truth which provides Buddhists with the path to end suffering and reach enlightenment.

Examples of five precepts
One of the five precepts is refrain from taking life which implies that a Buddhist should avoid ending the life’s of another and is why many Buddhists are vegetarian or vegan. Another one of the five precepts is refrain from taking what is not given. This implies that a Buddhist would not want to take an organ donated in an system of presumed consent as they wouldn’t be sure the donor was willing to donate.
