What is worldview? What factors influence an individual’s worldview?
Would view is the view that you see the world.
If stuff changes three times or more in one year
What caused the Black Death/Plague and what were some of the symptoms associated with the epidemic?
It was brought over by the Arabians and it killed a lot of people
What role did the Black Death play in kickstarting the Renaissance?
Nobody wanted to die so they all traveled and met up other people and traded food and items so that they would stay alive
Describe in detail the life/role of a serf/peasant.
It would be sad because you do not get a good meal you don’t get a good place to sleep and plus you have to work most of the day you have no time to hang out with your kids and wife and you can never upgrade in the social standard
Describe the medieval feudal system. Include the terms: king, nobility, knight, peasant, land, protection, service, etc.

What is urbanization? Why did Europe experience an increase in urbanization immediately following the Black Death?
The process of making an area more urban and the increased because people wanted to help them clean up the death bodies and plus they thought that they might have a cure
How did religion/ideologies change during the Renaissance? What shift in worldview was evident?
They all wanted to live so some people if they were thieves they would switch their appearance and would pretend to be someone else so they would also be able to live
Apart from the Black Death what factors may have led to the era known as the Renaissance?
The crusades

What is the difference between an artisan and a merchant? What types of products were made during the Renaissance?
An artisan makes stuff that looks super cool
A merchant does not make anything and sells food at the market so that he can get more stuff and get richer.
What is meant by the term city-state. Can you provide a clear example of a city-state?
a city that with its surrounding territory forms an independent state.

What types of “goods” were traded on the Silk Road prior to the use of port cities?
They traded spices and Weapons
Why do you think some city-states would potentially be more successful than others?
They were more successful because they had famous people coming from there
Enlighten me about the Medici Family? What role did they play in the Renaissance economy and social structure?
The medici family was famous because they owned banks and had a lot of money(I wish I had that much money) Plus they had an art museum
What is meant by the term humanism?
A system of thought that centres on humans and their values
Compare and contrast the roles of art & architecture during the Renaissance. How did these concepts differ from that of previous era’s such as the Classical Period.
Renaissance was a cultural and intellectual movement that peaked during the 15th and 16th centuries
The Renaissance is associated with great figures like the father of the Latin revival Petrarch
Describe the relationship between a patron and an artisan. Provide an example from what we have discussed in class.
Patron - a person who provides financial or other support for artist
artisan - A person who makes art for the merchant to sell at the market.
Who was Leonardo Da Vinci and why was he considered “The Renaissance Man”?
He was a man of many skills
Who was Niccolo Machiavelli, and what was the significance of his work “The Prince”? Do you think it is better to be loved/feared as a ruler? Why do you believe that?
Niccolo was a Florentine Historian. It would be better to be loved because if you were loved you would not be lonely and if you were feared nobody would like you.
How were religion and education viewed by the humanists?
They would have more value and so they would make their city more valuable
In a basic sense, what were the Crusades? (Occurred prior to the Renaissance).
They were a series of holly wars called by popes.
What advances/progresses were made in the sciences (astronomy, medicine and mathematics) during the Renaissance?
They found new cures because they find new stuff that they have never seen before
How did Johannes Gutenberg and the printing press change the world?
It changes the world because instead of sitting there for hour and doing every thing by hand you could just move some stuff and press it down. Plus when you think of it if the printing press was never invented we might not have printers.
