(3 cards)

1
Q

Method

A

Place small beaker inside larger beaker
Boil water using kettle
Transfer 80cm^3 of boiling water into the beaker
Use cardboard as a lid for the beaker - must have a hole for the thermometer
Place thermometer in hole - bulb must be in water
Record starting temp and start stopwatch
Record temp every 3m for 15m
Repeat with a range of insulating materials between the 2 beakers

Q

Method for investigating how material thickness affects temp

A

Place small beaker inside larger beaker
Boil water using kettle
Transfer 80cm^3 of boiling water into the beaker
Use cardboard as a lid for the beaker - must have a hole for the thermometer
Place thermometer in hole - bulb must be in water
Record starting temp and start stopwatch
