1) set up apparatus
2) adjust the apparatus so that D is 0.5m. Measure this using a meter ruler
3) keep slit separation and laser constant
3) measure across 10 fringes using a ruler and divide measurement by 10 to get fringe spacing
4) increase experiment increasing d by 0.1 m up to D = 1m
5) repeat experiment twice more and find mean w for each d
6) plot a graph of w against d and draw a line of best fit
7) wavelength of light is gradient x slit separation
