Role of father - equal care from the mother and father means more effecrtive contribution to the economy.
Bowlbys time = mothers say home, father the provider
Now shared responsiblity or roles switched
what are the main aims of peer review
- allocate funding
- validate quality of research (accuratacy/hypothesis etc)
3.suggest improvements/ammendments
evaluation for peer review
*anonymity - may permit unjustified critism by rivals
*publication bias - file drawe problem (publish positive), creates a false impression of current knowledge
*Burying ground breaking research - critical of views that condridict their view + favourable to matching views
what are the 3 conditions that need to be met in order to use a sign test
- looking for a difference
- used a repeated measures design
- data has to be nominal (catergories)
what are the steps needed for the sign test
- work out the difference between 2 sets of data (+,-)
- add no. of + and - (if theres no difference data ignored)
- Find less frequent sign of s value (n value - no. of ppts not including the 0 values)
- Compare + caluculate value to critical value (one-tailed/two tailed, significance lvl, no. of ppts)
