  • malnourishment increases the risk of getting diseases
  • people who are malnourished have lower productivity, so it harms not only their personal economic well being but also the country’s economic wellbeing

  • if water ins’t clean, people are at risk of catching waterborne diseases like cholera and typhoid
  • people also may have to walk long distances to fetch water, so they are working less which impacts the economy negatively

  • energy is used for industry, transport and homes
  • in industries, electricity can create jobs, positively boosting the economy
  • if people can use lights during the dark, productivity is higher as they are working for longer
  • way of life in HICs depend on a large and stable supply of energy
