How do you record respiratory rate?
A
1) LOOK: distress? Cyanosis signs?
2) NOTE: how they breathe as well as rate, any difficulty?
3) LISTEN: abnormal sounds/ wheeze?
4) RECORD: better to count breaths/min when holding wrist to check pulse so patient unaware. Count for 30s then x2, but 1 min if irregular breathing
